  • Distinct Concern Reporting Procedures: We have set out clear protocols for reporting any safeguarding concerns to guarantee

Our Recruitment Process

Vetting & Background Checks

All our tutors must have a DBS check and evidence of their right to work in the UK before they begin working with us.

Interviews

All our tutors are individually interviewed to ensure they are able to tutor at a high standard and are able to create an environment where students can learn. They are also assessed on their ability to create uplifting, professional relationships with students to allow students to grow as best as they can.

Throughout a tutor’s time with us

Whilst tutors are helping students grow, we continuously seek out the best ways to let their knowledge surrounding safeguarding develop alongside. Tutors will continue to receive regular training, so they are up-to-date with the latest safeguarding practices.

Misconduct

Step Up Tutoring maintains  a zero-tolerance towards anyone failing to comply with our safeguarding procedures and practices. Any tutors failing to meet the expectations surrounding safeguarding will no longer work for us with immediate effect.

At no point is the safety of a child, young person or vulnerable individual not paramount to us, so by following these practices throughout recruitment, we guarantee that every tutor goes above and beyond whilst tutoring.

Our Policies and Procedures

Education

All our tutors are taught our safeguarding procedures and are advised to read the safeguarding polices put in place to protect our students and staff. This education happens during our safeguarding training, so our tutors are regularly updated with changes to the policies and procedures when their next safeguarding training takes place.
