A bit about me: Hi, my name is Grace Brown and I’ve been tutoring English Literature and English Language for around 10 months, and in this time I helped my student achieve an amazing two grades higher in both their English Literature and Language GCSE exams than the grades achieved in their last set of mock exams. I find tutoring an extremely rewarding job and love watching my students grow in both their confidence and enjoyment of English. I achieved a grade 8 (A*) in both my GCSE English exams, and an A in my A-Level English Literature and Language exam.
What are my sessions like: In my sessions I aim to not only deepen a students understanding of the English Language and their selected literary texts, but also their enjoyment of English as a subject. I organise my sessions student to student in order to make sure everybody’s individual needs are met.
My favourite revision method: I find practice papers and exam style questions an extremely effective method of revision for English Language. Along side this I find making detailed notes and flashcards a useful technique for understanding English literature. All of which I back up with my collection of online resources organised into a pack that will be sent through to you or your child upon enrolment.
Next steps: I am now in the first year of my Contour Fashion Design undergraduate degree at De Montford University!
Tutoring mantra: Studying doesn’t have to be a chore, with the right help and mindset you can enjoy any subject!
Hobbies: In my free time I enjoy a wide variety of creative hobbies, including reading, artwork, and pole dance. I find my creative outlook on life extremely useful in aiding my understanding of English as at its core English is a widely creative subject anybody can learn to love.
