A bit about me: I have always had a passion for both biology and geography – what better way to pass this on than by tutoring! This enthusiasm for teaching is shared with sports as I have coached tennis for a number of years, so I am excited for this opportunity to transfer my skills to academics too. I achieved a grade 9 in GCSE Biology (A) and a grade 9 in GCSE geography (A), then went on to achieve an A* in A-Level Biology and an A* in A-Level Geography (alongside an A* in A-Level Psychology, A* in EPQ, and an A in AS-Level Core Maths).
What sessions are like: My aim would be to target weak points while building confidence – mindset is more important than you think! I would still try to keep sessions as fun and engaging whilst challenging existing knowledge, and always encouraging students to ask questions.
Favourite revision method: I find using flash cards based off the mark scheme to be the most effective way to revise, as they mimic situations that arise in a real exam.
Next steps: I am aiming to finish my first year at Loughborough University with a 1st, while completing my Level 2 Tennis Coaching Qualification alongside. I am also travelling to New York in Summer to coach tennis for 9 weeks at a sports camp.
Tutoring mantra: Trust the process – it might not be easy but it will definitely be worth it!
Hobbies: I love playing a variety of sports and keeping active in the gym and the outdoors by hiking and camping. I also play piano and love listening to music.
