Poppy Wallman

A-Level Tutor

Maths

📍Durham

A bit about me: Hi, I’m Poppy and I’m currently a second year mathematics student at Durham University, and I want to help other students find their passion for maths. I achieved a grade 8 in both Mathematics and Further Mathematics at GCSE, and A*s in both A-level Mathematics and Further Mathematics. I also studied Psychology and History at A-level, so I am interested in a wide range of subjects!

What sessions are like: My sessions aim to target students’ weaker topics, whilst making learning enjoyable. I
will do this by making the A level specification into a progress tracker, on which the student can identify they’re weakest topics which we can focus revision around.

Favourite revision method: My favourite revision method is studying the topics I find most difficult, through past exam questions and exam-style questions.

Next steps: After my maths degree I want to further my education by completing a masters in mathematics.

Tutoring mantra: Tutoring should be about making learning enjoyable, and creating a genuine interest in the subject!

Hobbies: I have played netball since I was in year 6, which I have continued playing in university, and I also really enjoy reading.
