A bit about me: My enthusiasm for tutoring stems from being a Guide leader where I lead activities with young people weekly, helping them with many different things such as confidence, communication and knowledge. I think tutoring is another exciting opportunity for me to support young people/ students and help them achieve their potential. I tutor maths, getting an 8 at GCSE level. I continued to strengthen these skills with AS Level Core Maths in which I got an A.

What are my sessions like: My sessions will always target the student’s most difficult topics before moving onto the ones they find easier, to build resilience and confidence. I will always work through topics with my students before they try questions on their own to make sure each part is clear before moving on. My sessions are also adaptable to make sure I am catering to the specific needs of each student, as everyone learns differently.
My favourite revision method: I find completing past papers followed by student marking to be the most effective. This is because it shows the student clearly where their gaps in knowledge are and where improvements can be made.
Next steps: I am taking a gap year to gain some work experience and then I am hoping to study Law at university next year.
Tutoring mantra: If you’re not being challenged, you won’t learn. But I believe the best results will come from being challenged in a safe and enjoyable environment.
Hobbies: I am a volunteer Guide leader, so I help plan, attend and lead activities at weekly meetings. I am also in a musical theatre group who perform regularly and I play the piano.
