1 to 1 tutoring means you get one of our amazing tutors all to yourself! All lessons are individually planned to fit your needs so that your weaknesses can be targeted and quickly become your strengths. You can request to cover any topics you feel underconfident and, most importantly, get the entire attention of your tutor. Without the pressure of other people listening in and watching, these sessions are a way for you to find out how you work best. An online session for GCSE tutoring will cost £20 per hour, and a face to face session will cost £24 per hour.
Group sessions allow you to access weekly private tuition with other people you know. Sessions will be tailored to all students and you will involve group work as well as times when a tutor may help tackle problems specific to one student while other students complete other work. It provides a more affordable way to get tutoring and allows students to learn from each other. Prices are subject to if it is online or in-person and the number of students in the group, with more students costing less, and online sessions for 2 students start at £17 per hour per student, but stagger down to £13 per student for a group of 6. All face to face sessions incur an additional £2 per student.
Some tutors will offer online, interactive 1 hour classes each week for specific topics within their subject which change each week. Classes allow students to sign up for only the topics they require help for, and they can ask the tutor questions for anything that they find hard or confusing within that topic. Classes are small (2-4 students) so tutors can work with students more closely and provide different levels of help within the topic dependent on the understanding of the students, and students can learn off each other. Online classes will cost £15 per class.

Our tutors typically use Zoom as a preferred platform due to their integrated, easy to use whiteboard and screen sharing capabilities, and also because lots of students will have become familiar with the platform during Covid-19.
Typically the payment method is bank transfer, which can be a standing order or a standalone transfer after receiving your next invoice. We are happy to make alternative arrangements for those who struggle with a bank transfer.
If it is an online class, simply email help@stepuptutoring.co and let us know at least 4 hours before your class start time for a full refund. Due to them being dependant on your attendance, we request you let your tutor know if you can’t attend a 1-2-1 or group session at least 24 hours before your session start time to reschedule (where possible) or receive a full refund. The default length of sessions and classes are 1 hour, however the duration of them can change if the length does not suit or you want extra time tutoring. Prices are subject to change if the duration is not 1 hour.
Of course! If you want to switch from a group session to a 1-2-1 or the other way round, then we are more than happy to accommodate. Just get in touch with your tutor and they will discuss the way forwards with you.
